Clinical work: Dr Mumford is a consultant neurologist in medicolegal practice. He retired from his full-time National Health Service post in the Edinburgh teaching hospitals in spring 2022 after a career spanning nearly forty years. He remains an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Neurology at the University of Edinburgh.
Medicolegal work: Dr Mumford is called upon frequently by a number of legal firms based in Scotland, England and Ireland to provide medicolegal reports in cases of personal injury or alleged medical negligence. Private practice: Although active in private neurological practice between 1996 and 2012, Dr Mumford no longer sees patients on a private basis.
